| | | | | | | | | STATEMENT OF ISSUE | | The City Council is being asked to select a voting delegate and alternate for the 2021 League of California Cities Annual Business Meeting on September 24, 2021. |

| | | | | | | | | DISCUSSION | Each year at the League of California Cities (League) Annual Business Meeting, cities are given one vote to consider and take action on submitted resolutions that set League policy for the coming year. These policies serve as the foundation that guides cities in overall decision making, and help shape legislative priorities.
Designation of the voting delegate and alternate may be made by minute action of the council. Following council discussion and selection of a voting delegate and alternate, a League of California Cities Voting Delegate/Alternate form will be prepared by the City Clerk and forwarded to the League for their official voting records, ensuring the City of Fairfield's vote is counted during the Annual Business Meeting.

| | | | | | | | | ALTERNATIVE ACTION | | Council could choose not to select a voting delegate and alternate to vote at the 2021 League of California Cities Annual Business Meeting. However, the League's Annual Business Meeting supports the City's 2021 Legislative Platform by providing opportunity for council to speak on matters effecting the best interests of the Fairfield community. |
