| | | | | | | | STATEMENT OF ISSUE | The Fire Department is requesting City Council’s designation of authorized applicant agents in order for the City to apply for reimbursement of eligible costs under federal and state public assistance programs. |

| | | | | | | | DISCUSSION | In order to be eligible for public assistance for disasters, an authorized agent of the applicant agency is required to submit a completed Request for Public Assistance (RPA) to ensure regulatory deadline is met in accordance with Title 44 of the Code of Federal Regulations (44 CFR) section 206.202.

| | | | | | | | FINANCIAL IMPACT | Costs for emergency response and protective measures vary based on the disaster. The percentage of the costs incurred that will be considered for reimbursement under federal and state public assistance programs also varies based on the disaster. |
