SUBJECT:Minute Action Approving Mayor's Appointment to the Youth Commission
RECOMMENDED ACTION 
Approve appointments by minute action.
STATEMENT OF ISSUE 

The City Council is being asked to approve the Mayor's appointments as follows:

 

Youth Commission

Commissioners

Term 1/1/2021 - 12/31/2022

DISCUSSION

Three seats are available on the Youth Commission for a two-year term of January 1, 2021 through December 31, 2022. 

 

Councilmembers Rick Vaccaro and Chuck Timm, along with the Youth Commission Interview liaison, Eric Cortes, interviewed four applicants on November 18, 2020. All four applicants were recommended for appointment and three were appointed at the December 15. 2020 meeting. The fourth applicant was recommended for appointment after all application requirements were met. Those requirements have now been met and the applicant is ready for appointment.

 

Mayor Price has agreed with the recommendations provided today.

PUBLIC CONTACT/ADVISORY BODY RECOMMENDATION 

None.


ALTERNATIVE ACTION 

The City Council could choose not to approve the mayor’s appointments, thereby leaving vacancies on the committees and Youth Commission.
