SUBJECT:Resolution 2021-05 of the City Council of the City of Fairfield Accepting the Fairfield Traffic Signal Pole Upgrades Project as Complete

RECOMMENDED ACTION 
Adopt resolution.
STATEMENT OF ISSUE 
The adoption of this resolution accepts the Fairfield Traffic Signal Pole Upgrade Project as complete.
DISCUSSION
On January 21, 2020, the City adopted Resolution 2020-11 approving a construction contract with Mike Brown Electric Co. for the Fairfield Traffic Signal Pole Upgrades Project (“Project”). The Project scope included the replacement and upgrade of traffic signal poles at the intersections of Clay Bank Road/Quail Drive, Travis Boulevard/Gateway Boulevard, Travis Boulevard/Pennsylvania Avenue, and Manuel Campos Parkway/North Texas Street. The Project was completed on December 3, 2020.

The construction authorization for the Project was approved for $225,742. This amount included a base bid of $205,220 and a 10% contingency of $20,522. The final cost for the Project was $206,652, which is approximately 8.5% below the amount authorized for construction.

FINANCIAL IMPACT
Acceptance of the Project obligates the City to provide ongoing operations and maintenance of these traffic signal improvements.

If the City Council has any questions, acceptance may be delayed so that staff may provide the necessary additional information.
