SUBJECT:Minute Action Approving Mayor's Appointments to the Solano Commission for Women and Girls and the Budget Advisory Committee
RECOMMENDED ACTION 
Approve appointments by minute action.
STATEMENT OF ISSUE 

The City Council is being asked to approve the Mayor's appointments as follows:

 

Solano Commission for Women and Girls

DISCUSSION

The Solano County Board of Supervisors created the Solano Commission for Women and Girls has one vacant seat available for a two-year term. 

 

Councilmembers Rick Vaccaro and Chuck Timm interviewed ten applicants on October 1, 2020. Their recommendation was submitted to Mayor Harry Price for consideration. 

 

The Budget Advisory Committee is newly formed and has 11 vacant seats for a term of 10/21/2020 to 6/30/2021. 

 

Councilmembers Vaccaro and Timm interviewed nine applicants on September 8, 2020 and interviewed eight applicants on September 10, 2020. Their recommendations were submitted to Mayor Price for consideration.

 

Mayor Price has agreed with the recommendations provided today.

None
PUBLIC CONTACT/ADVISORY BODY RECOMMENDATION 

The County of Solano and the City of Fairfield held concurrent recruitments for the Solano Commission for Women and Girls. The County of Solano submitted the applications to the City of Fairfield to appoint a Fairfield representative. Councilmembers Vaccaro and Timm determined their recommendations from interviews of Fairfield applicants conducted on October 1, 2020. Their recommendation was submitted to Mayor Price for consideration.


ALTERNATIVE ACTION 

The City Council could choose not to approve the mayor’s appointments, thereby leaving vacancies on the Solano Commission for Women and Girls and the Budget Advisory Committee. Alternatively, the City Council could choose to approve alternate candidates.
